LIL’ MISS BAD ASS RACE REVIEW: “TOUGH” MUDDER NEW ENGLAND 2014
As an avid Spartan Racer, I swore I would never run a Tough Mudder. What was the point, right? I loved Spartans and didn’t see a need to register for an untimed rival race when I could be training for or running real races. I think it was stories of TM’s distaste for Spartan that originally got me riled up (TM throwing people out for wearing Spartan T-Shirts or spreading Spartan marketing materials in the parking lots), compounded by their innate ability to always schedule a race the same weekend as a local Spartan...

Team Mud and Adventure Weekend Recap – May 31- June1
This weekend was bittersweet. I was stuck in sunny paradise working on various projects but got to watch through social media as my Team Mud and Adventure teammates do what they do best - took names and owned themselves some races. Without further ado and in no particular order:

Why you won’t see OCR in the Olympics soon, why this...
There has been a great deal of chatter lately about Obstacle Course Racing as an Olympic event. Most recently, Spartan Race founder Joe De Sena attributed his removal of the iconic gladiators from the end of his races to an effort to comply with Olympic restrictions. I suspect this reason probably sounded better than what was actually going on - namely insurance issues, but it got enough people talking about OCR and the Olympics.
Race Recap: Doomsday Dash, Tweed, Ontario May 17, 2014
Off to Tweed, Ontario we go. The location for the Doomsday Race was at the Trudeau's Park Resort about 20 minutes north of Napanee on Stoco Lake. This is a beautiful setting with a breeze coming off the water to keep racers cool.
The Death Race
Why sign up for something that sounds so difficult you ask? It’s funny because I have several racing buddies who love running road races, obstacle course races, and anything new but the idea of the un-known (The Death Race) leaves no desire for them. Why did I sign up for it? Easy answer.
