The Endeavor Team Challenge is a new premier fitness event that bridges the gap between traditional adventure racing, obstacle course racing, and functional fitness (CrossFit).  The event was designed by two former Army Rangers to be the ultimate culminating fitness event.  According to the organizers: “The Endeavor Team Challenged is a monumental test of fitness. Two-person teams face over 40 miles of awesome terrain, obstacle courses, and various physical and mental challenges.  Arrive equipped with only what you can carry on your back.  Leave with a new sense of what you are capable of.”

The organizers recently published a blog post about the  2013 event, their goals, lessons learned and the path forward.  In short, the event is designed to be:

  1. Accessible to the average athlete (with training)
  2. A broad test fitness
  3. Something fun to train for and to compete in
  4. Physically and mentally challenging
  5. Extremely well run

From all accounts the organizers achieved these objectives.  You can read a compilation of several blog posts by competitors  here

They have made some minor tweaks and have announced an event date in Northern California for 2014 – September 6-7, 2014, in Bear Valley CA.

Registration opens Monday, November 4, 2013 at 0600 PST on the event website or here

They are keeping the field small – only 200 competitors (100 2-person teams) will get the chance to tackle the course.  Registration opens at $479 per person, but will increase as competitors sign up.

There are no promotional codes available for this event, other than a small military discount, and a discount to past volunteers.
