Don’t skip life’s obstacles: “Adversity is the road to success.” –...

You don't have to be a die hard Spartan Race fan or a Death Racer to take away some meaningful inspiration from this talk by Andy Weinberg, co-founder of Spartan Race and Peak Races

2014 Summer Death Race – Recap: Year of the Explorer

Wow, after 66+ insane hours of the Death Race, at approximately 1:30am this morning, the race was declared over and FINISHER skulls were awarded. I'm so HONORED to receive a skull along with all the other AMAZING athletes that finished. We accomplished something greater than ourselves! The athletes that did not finish are equally amazing because they had the fortitude to attempt such an extremely challenging event, dug deep, and gave it all that they had.

Savage Race – Pennsylvania: Race Review

Savage Race is not new to OCR, holding their first few events in 2011-12 in Florida and having since expanded across the East Coast with 9 scheduled events in 2014. Having been around for several years, Savage Race has begun to schedule annual events in repeat locations, while continuously adding new ones, some having multiple dates in a single season. Their signature blue painted obstacles include Davy Jones’ Locker (cliff jump), Sawtooth (tricked out monkey bars), and the largest obstacle I’ve seen to date- Colossus (quarter pipe accent to a steep water slide).

Destination: Washington, The Great Pacific Northwest

Regarding the West Coast, who could deny that this majestic corner of the United States is on the minds of the American populace? Whether it’s to chase fresh powder to shred, hike enormous elevations, find adrenaline pumping rock climbing or to just sit back and relax by a pristine lake or river and enjoy the view - there is a sense of enchantment to be attained in the West Coast, and the North West in particular offers just that. If this sounds enticing even in the slightest, then there is no better place to run a Spartan Sprint. The Pac West Spartan Race located in Washougal, Washington is sure to meet all your expectations and more. Not only will you achieve self-fulfillment through the race, but you’ll be able to indulge yourself with all of life’s simple pleasures as well. To all of you nature loving adventurers, pay attention because this concerns you… you want to run this race!

Rose Wetzel-Sinnett – Making Her Mark on Spartan Race

Rose Wetzel-Sinnett may be relatively new to the obstacle-racing scene, but she's quickly solidifying her place as a force to be reckoned with on the Spartan field. Having been introduced to the Spartan Race series in late 2013 by close friends, the seasoned athlete discovered a love of the sport, and has set her sights on earning a place on the Spartan podium, one race at a time.

Mud Guts and Glory: A Course Worthy of a Championship

I can’t say that I have had many opportunities to say this but “Watch out Spartan Race, here comes (MGG) Mud Guts and Glory. I ran MGG on May 24th 2014 and although I will express to you, in the best possible way about how Fantastic the course was/is, I also feel that words cannot fully explain/grasp the overall experience I had, for you must participate in it to really know.

50 Miles for Murph and Operation Red Wings

Last year was the first 50 mile run in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, his teammates and those who passed away during Operation Red Wings on June 28th, 2005. Jeff Rondina and I made the run from El Barrios Bravest Fire Department in Spanish Harlem, Manhattan out to Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island. After 12 hours, we reached our destination just in time to begin the 4 mile Run Around the Lake which was being held in Murph’s honor. That was exactly one year ago today as I am typing this. Well, I will be doing the run once again this year.

Hobie Call: I’m Teaming Up With BattleFrog

After experiencing BattleFrog's inaugural event in Georgia a couple of weeks ago, I knew right away, that this group of SEALs were not jumping into the industry with the mindset of settling for second best, and I just hope that I may have something of value to help them on their mission.
