Overcome & Run: Family and OCR with Mark Batres and Natalie Miano

0

Overcome & Run chats with a couple who balance family life while still doing well enough in races to end up on the podium.

This duo manages their family of 4 while consistently standing atop the podium. We had a great time talking to them about how they’re able to manage family time, work, personal life and training. In addition to family talk, they share their story of how they got into OCR, and why the sport is so important to them.  These two are up and comers in our sport, and I expect to see great things from them in the coming seasons.  This was a super fun episode for Heather and I to be on as we can relate to so many of the things they shared about being a married OCR team, and Heather and Natalie definitely share the same lack of love for walls.

Overcome And Run
I am Jay Bode, host of the Overcome and Run podcast. I am pure runner turned Obstacle Course Racer. I ran my first Tough Mudder in early 2015 and have been going hard ever since. I could barely wait the 11 miles to start looking for my next race. In addition to the podcast, I have an amazing wife named Heather who is also an Obstacle Course Racer and the other voice you hear on the show. We are making 2016 our year to grow into the realm of elite racers. As if the show and my wife don't get the majority of my time, I am also active duty in the United States Navy.
