The author visits RecRoc, a new ninja warrior facility that just opened in Pennsylvania.
The course begins relatively simply, with steeply-angled “lily pad” obstacles followed by a vertical wall which must be scaled. Next is a “Z wall,” which requires strong finger grip strength — more than I was able to muster. Giving myself an “A for effort,” I moved on to the balance beam.
Then comes a series of hanging vertical poles, followed by hanging rings, which must be traversed without touching the ground. After that is a “warped wall,” where would-be ninjas must climb by running up the curved wall until they are high enough to grasp the top.
