Frequently Asked Questions:

What time does it start?
The First Wave will start at 12 Noon. The next Wave will be fifteen minutes later and so on

What Wave am I in?
You / your team will be assigned a wave subject to availability at time of booking. You wave start time will be confirmed in a later e-mail.

What time should we arrive?
You must register at the Banna Beach Hotel between 9:30 and 11:00 am on the day of the event to collect your Race Number, T-Shirt and goody bag.

Is there a warm up?
Each Wave will be called to the Warm up area 15 minutes before their start time. You will then be given a safety briefing and a warm up to get you ready.

How fit do I need to be?
Obstacle Course Races such as these are designed to be fun for everyone and usually involve teamwork between competitors. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness should be able to complete the course… just take your time. If an obstacle proves to be too daunting just skip it.

How long will it take?
Depends on a lot of things, fitness, teamwork, etc. The main thing it to have fun and enjoy it. It is a 7k but there are a lot of obstacles.

Is the event timed?
The Banna Beast is a challenge – not a race. Just enjoy it. That said the first wave will be for elite competitors and OCR (obstacle course runners). If you wish to go in the first wave please contact us using the form above. Subject to availability.

What should I wear?
Shorts/leggings, T-Shirt/ Old Runners. You will get muddy and wet.

What else should I bring?
A full change of clothes is essential.

Is there an age limit?
You must be over 18 years old on the day of the event to participate.

Can I compete for a Charity?
Of course. Download our Charity Sponsorship form and get collecting.

Is there entertainment afterwards?
There sure is. After all our tagline is “Mud, Sweat and Beers”. There will be a B-B-Q available as well as live music followed by DJ Ray so be prepared to party well into the night.

Are there Prizes for the Winners?
We will be having a Prizegiving Ceremony after the B-B-Q. However, do not expect the traditional First Home Wins kind of prizes.

What facilities are at the venue?
Banna Beach Resort has a full leisure centre, pool, showers, steam, sauna, gym so you can pamper yourself after the event. (You will need to wash off excess muck in our outdoor hose-down area first).
