Goliath Challenge Eric Butler

Race Information
5K Race

Participants, ages 12 and up, will be challenged on this off road 5K race featuring aggressive terrain and “Goliath Sized” obstacles.  Racers will start in multiple waves throughout the day beginning at 8:00 am with prizes for the top men and women finishers.  All registrants participating in the race will receive a shirt and goodie bag for taking on Goliath.  We recommend arriving 1 hour before your wave to retrieve your race packet.  The race will be held rain or shine.  Water will be available at locations along the course.  Get ready to conquer Goliath!

2.5 K Race

Kids, ages 7-13, take on a shorter version of the Goliath Challenge.  The race is 2.5K in length including “Goliath Size” obstacles throughout the course.  Parents are not allowed on the race course during the race.  All kids participating in the race will receive a shirt and award for taking on Goliath.  Kids will need parental consent including a signed waiver.

Chip Timing

Chip Timing will be used for the Goliath Challenge.  When participants pass the start and finish, the time is automatically recorded.

About This Race

The Goliath Challenge is an off-road 5K and 2.5K race featuring aggressive terrain along with natural and constructed obstacles.  The race will take place in a rural setting at the Badlands Snow Park in Hudson, WI on May 30th, 2015 as a morning to early afternoon event with multiple waves of runners.

Objective

The Goliath Challenge ultimately sets the stage for a fun day of fellowship and fitness.  The underlying theme for the event is face your “Goliath” challenges that are undoubtedly a part of your everyday life. The main objective of the race is to raise money for a charity that battles the “Goliath” challenge of world hunger.  Funds will be raised for Feed My Starving Children through participant registration fees, sponsors, and corporate contributions.  To battle hunger locally, race participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the race with will be donated to the Hudson Food Shelf.

About Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)

Feed My Starving Children is a Christian nonprofit hunger relief organization.  Children in nearly 70 countries receive FMSC food.  Organizations partner with FMSC and distribute food to children in various community settings:  orphanages, schools, clinics, refugee camps, nutrition programs, and more.

About The Event Sponsor

Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) of Hudson, WI is the sponsoring and coordinating entity for the event.  TLC is a Missouri Synod affiliate congregation of 1,800 with two church campuses located within the Hudson community.
