Join CMC at historic Fort Hamilton – the only active military base in the city of New York, located in the heart of Brooklyn overlooking NY Harbor and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It was from this location on July 4, 1776, at the start of the American Revolution, that an American battery fired cannons at an approaching British naval convoy. Today, it’s a Base Support Installation for the greater New York City area, playing a major role in coordinating disaster relief efforts and it serves members of the military, their families, and over 70,000 veterans. The perfect location for a CMC – where athleticism, patriotism and community abound. Get ready! Embrace your challenge, defy your limitations, and be better than you ever thought possible.

At CMC, The PIT™ is the inspirational start of the race and the adrenaline pumping strength element where each heat of roughly 100 competitors charge into a large area surrounded by cheering fans and motivating music.

  • The 2016 PIT™ consists of a 5 minute high intensity, functional fitness AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible) WOD style workout of 4 movements
  • Choose a PIT™ Division (Alpha or Bravo) based on your fitness level so that you can perform your best while testing your physical and mental limit
  • Participants have 90 seconds to complete AMRAP of each movement with 20 seconds rest between movements
  • Your goal is to perform as many reps as possible of all 4 movements in 5 minutes (4 minutes of work with 20 seconds of rest between movements)

The PIT™ is designed to be the great equalizer by leveling the playing field between power athletes and endurance runners to determine the best overall conditioned athlete. The exercises in The PIT™ are simple, universal movements that all athletes, no matter what sport or fitness background, can relate to.
