Regarding the West Coast, who could deny that this majestic corner of the United States is on the minds of the American populace? Whether it’s to chase fresh powder to shred, hike enormous elevations, find adrenaline pumping rock climbing or to just sit back and relax by a pristine lake or river and enjoy the view – there is a sense of enchantment to be attained in the West Coast, and the North West in particular offers just that. If this sounds enticing even in the slightest, then there is no better place to run a Spartan Sprint. The Pac West Spartan Race located in Washougal, Washington is sure to meet all your expectations and more. Not only will you achieve self-fulfillment through the race, but you’ll be able to indulge yourself with all of life’s simple pleasures as well. To all of you nature loving adventurers, pay attention because this concerns you… you want to run this race!

First thing’s first – places to stay. It never fails to check out your favorite booking site, but to help narrow down your search, here are a few suggestions. The closest and probably the most wallet friendly establishment would be the Rama Inn Motel.  Rama Inn offers all the basic essentials including high speed internet and cable TV. On their website, they claim that “The Rama Inn Motel is close to a variety of summer and winter outdoor activities including historic Parkersville Landing and Lewis and Clark trails located next to the hotel. This Washington hotel is also the best place to stay for families attending sporting events at the Harmony Sports Complex. Hotel guests will also enjoy activities such as fishing in the Columbia River and Lacamas Lake”. Their website is unique in the sense that they list and describe in great detail all of the fun that the area has to offer. Go take a look! http://www.ramainnwa.com/index.html

Another option that offers a few more amenities such as a heated indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center is the Best Western Plus Parkersville Inn & Suites. Like the Rama Inn, this Best Western is located right on the historic Columbia River and more importantly won’t put a huge dent in your wallet.  The benefit of these two hotel locations is that you can enjoy the calm of nature pre-race and still save your energy.
